Armed Robbery

A person commits the offense of armed robbery when, with intent to commit theft, he or she takes property of another from the person or the immediate presence of another by use of an offensive weapon, or any replica, article, or device having the appearance of such weapon. 


A person convicted of the offense of armed robbery shall be punished by imprisonment for life or by imprisonment for not less than ten nor more than 20 years.

However, any sentence imposed in the 10 to 20 year general sentencing range must be served without the possibility of parole.
